Has your child experienced a life event that is impacting their daily functioning? Does your child have meltdowns or tantrums? Do you receive calls from the daycare or school about your child’s behavior? Are you on this site because you feel unsure what you can do to support and help your child?
I can help. Whether you are seeking someone to help your child navigate and heal a trauma or learn new skills to manage anxiety, aggressive behaviors, depression, ADHD, school issues or other challenges; you have found support.
YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR CHILD’S LIFE.
Your job as a parent can be the most challenging and the most rewarding job you will ever hold. I choose to partner with parents, offering them a safe, confidential, judgment-free place for you to share your concerns for your child. Parents know their child best. Your perspective and knowledge of your child matter in creating an effective treatment plan. Your expertise on your child combined with my knowledge and training in play therapy, 15+ years experience in Early Childhood and Elementary Public School settings and my personal experience as a parent will allow us to create an individualized treatment plan for your child based on your child’s strengths and what you hope they will learn from a therapeutic relationship.
I will connect with your child to build a therapeutic relationship on their developmental level in a warm, judgment-free, safe space where your child can freely and naturally express themselves. While the approach I use with each child is individualized, in a typical session I use a child-centered (non-directive) approach and depending on the treatment goal we will spend time using a directive approach to provide the opportunity for your child to learn and practice skills. Together through play we will empower your child to learn to experience and express emotions in a healthy and safe manner, increasing your child’s wellbeing.
At this time, I am working with children ages 3 years through the end of elementary school. Please give me a call to set up a free consultation.
