You remember a time when things didn’t feel so out of control, stuck and stressful; and when family conflict, anxiety or constant work stress weren’t the “norm”... but those days feel like a distant memory. The build up of all the stress can feel like you’re in a storm that never ends.
I am here to see you through the storm.
I help individuals and families just like you: busy parents, professionals and other adults and children going through stressful transitions. People who want to feel happier, healthier and thrive in all areas of their life. Whether your goals are achieving overall wellness, overcoming traumatic memories, creating fulfilling personal and work relationships, or simply enjoying your family again, I can provide the support you need to get there.
I help my clients find mind + body + family peace by looking at the whole person and the whole day to day context in which they are living. This may include your beliefs, behaviors, and family systems. Together, we identify unique, creative, and personalized tools you need to better understand your own mind + body connection and other relationships in your life.
First, we examine the current challenges that are causing stress and tension in your mind, body, and family. Then, we work on any trauma processing, behavior changes, and communication skills that will be most effective for handling your current stressors. By the end of our time together, you will feel equipped with tools and genuine support to take on life’s storms with courage while feeling connected to yourself and the most important people in your life.
I am someone you can trust.
My training in Marriage and Family Therapy, Evidence Based Trauma Processing, Play Therapy, and Holistic Integrative Health Coaching means I have the expertise to roam with you on your journey to heal and support yourself and your family. In addition to current research and evidenced based techniques, I use humor, art, metaphor, and other interactive experiences to humanize the process of taking care of your mental health. I meet you with compassion and customize the therapy process to your unique personality in order to promote optimal self-growth and empowerment.
But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to feel stuck and overwhelmed struggling in a stormy season of life, right?
I get it because I have dedicated over 11 years of my career as a therapist to working with families facing emotional life storms including: trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, complex family dynamics, and struggles associated with parenting, blended families, and life transitions. As a mother, I am familiar with the feeling of being responsible for my family’s mental and physical health through all of life’s challenges.
I know that facing these challenges can seem daunting, and taking the first step in reaching out for support feels like a risk. A recovering procrastinator by nature, I am familiar with the feeling of being overwhelmed and wanting to avoid uncomfortable feelings or storms in my own life. When we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who is approachable, down to earth, and truly understands the importance of meeting you at every stage of your journey.
